Just In Case You Missed It...

For those of you who missed Idol last night...Here is the performance of the night! This kid is AMAZING!!!

For those of you who don't know who he is...his name is David Archuleta and he's a big whopping 17 years old! He's from Murray, Utah and goes to Murray High!

Be sure to pause my music before playing this...you are going to want to hear him!!!!

To give credit where credit is due...I totally copied this idea from Eliza, who is much more on the ball than I am!!!

Big Girl Bed!

So...we finally bit the bullet and got Rylie a big girl bed! She has been sleeping in her crib - converted into toddler bed. If she stretches out, her arms touch one end and her feet touch the other...it was time!
Here is Rylie in her bed last night...the last night of the crib! (Moment of silence, please!)
Honestly, buying a big girl bed was very hard on me...my crib has been up for over 9 1/2 years!!! For those of you who are wondering when the next little Bloomfield will be coming along...after we bought the bed on Saturday, I was talking to Shane about how sad I was going to be to take the crib down and his response was, "and then we are going to sell it!"...so there you have it...as of right now, there will be no more little Bloomfields! (It's ok...I'm no spring chicken you know...even if I am only 29:)) Sorry Grandmas!!! Here's the crib all stripped and ready to take down this morning! Shane stayed home to take the crib down. He said he was waiting until after Rylie left for preschool, but I think he was waiting until after I was out of the house too...so that he wouldn't have to experience me being an emotional mom!
Rylie came home from school and when it was nap time, she was surprised to see her new big girl bed! She loves it!!! She climbed right in (and it is quite the climb for her little legs!) It still has princess sheets...of course! She told me last night that she didn't want a new bed, but I think she has forgotten all about that now!

It has a trundle underneath it...so bring on the visitors!!! (Yes, you will all have to share the trundle...just kidding!)

I've Been Tagged!

Thanks Alli!!! Too bad there aren't any tagbacks! :)

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player tags some people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment letting them know they are tagged.

Random Things

So...it has been a pretty quiet week at the Bloomfield house...so I'll just catch up on some of the highlights!
Last night Sheri, Penny and I went to hear Truman Madsen speak. He was incredible! I must say that my mind hasn't been stimulated like that in years! (Let's face it...I'm home with Rylie all day...while she does make me think, it isn't as stimulating as Truman Madsen!) I actually had a headache when I went to bed from all the deep thinking! It was great! We are planning to go again next month! I even ran into an old friend at the lecture...very strange for me...I never see anyone I know...a hazard from all the moving around I guess. We didn't really get to catch up...but it was good to see a familiar face!
So...when I got home (around 11...we had to make a Cheesecake Factory run!) Shane was watching LOST (of course!) and the kids were in bed. Then out came our little sleepwalker, Parker. I don't know if it is just my kid or if other little boys do this, but when Parker sleepwalks, it is because he needs to use the bathroom...and that can be dangerous! He actually came out to talk to me, so I thought he was awake...well...a few minutes after he went back to bed and I got up with Rylie to take her to the bathroom...we discovered that Parker actually found the bathroom in this sleepwalking episode, but that he didn't bother to put up the lid! Rylie and I were standing in a puddle before we realized what it was...GROSSSSSSSSSSSS!! Thank goodness I have an awesome husband who will clean that stuff up!!! Unfortunately, we have found all too many puddles thanks to our little Parker! I hope he grows out of this soon!!!
Saturday I took Shane, Mason, and our friend Kay to see Wicked! It was just as good the second time as it was the first!!! Shane and Kay really liked it...Mason said he did...I don't know if he really did or if he just didn't know what to think since it was his first musical. Either way, it was a fun day in Hollywood!

And last but certainly not least, Mackenzie informed me that they cast the rest of the family for Twilight! Here they are...I'm not too sure about them...I really don't think the Edward is hot enough...just for starters, but we'll see!!! No I'm not obsessed...I'm just passing on the info for those of you who are! :) Happy Friday!!!

Happy I LOVE YOU DAY!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day! Rylie crawled in bed with us bright and early to start our day! I think we exchanged valentine's before 7 a.m. this morning! I'll spare you the early morning pics of Shane and I...but the kids are pretty cute no matter what time it is!

I guess it's never too early for presents!

Rylie and dad before school!

We had an extra special treat today...it snowed!!! Of course, all we got were flurries...but it was snow! It was pretty exciting!

So...the mushy stuff!!! I love this quote...which is probably why I got a card for Shane that had it on it!

"On the Road of Life, it's not where we go but who we're with that makes the difference."

Sixteen years ago today, Shane walked me to my car in the rain after our child development class. It was the first time that he had truely acknowledged my existance (other than asking me if we had homework when he knew we didn't!) He asked me out on our first date that day! It's crazy to think that I've almost known him for more of my life than I haven't known him! (Did that make sense?)

This is Parker and Mrs. Marshall, his kindergarten teacher (she's the best)! Along with it being Valentine's Day, it was also his 100th day of school!!!

Superbowl Sunday!!!

As you all know...I'm a HUGE football fan! So, of course, I watched the Superbowl! I need to start by saying that this was the best Superbowl in recent history! It was so exciting! Yes, I was for the Patriots...the whole perfect season thing was just too enticing to pass up! And let's face it, Eli usually chokes under pressure...not counting the playoffs...I figured he was due to really lose it! Having said that...to all the people I talked smack to...I have been humbled! You've got to give credit where credit is due, and I will be the first to admit that Eli Manning showed up yesterday and he pulled it off! So...congrats to the Giants and all you Giant fans out there (or Patriot haters...which ever you may be!) 18-1 is sure hard to swallow!
Now to the commercials...my favorite one by far was the Diet Pepsi Max commerical. If you missed it, click on the link below and be ready to laugh!!! (Joe Buck is so funny!)

For the watching of the game...we have started a little Superbowl tradition...we watch the game with our good friends Greg and Karolin. Greg is my football buddy! I really enjoy going through football season with him. He keeps me updated on all the scores while we're at church, and the fact that we are always for the opposite team makes it even more fun! So, of course, he was for the Giants! I don't know what was more exciting...the last two minutes of the game, or watching Greg pace my floor! The suspense was killing him!

Did I mention that Greg is a die hard Dolphins fan? I know...how he could dare go out of the house in that jersey after the season they had is beyond me!!!

Greg and Karolin with their two girls, Andrea and Shealynn...and baby boy on the way!

It was Andrea's 4th birthday...so we did a little celebrating during half-time!

On a side note...Saturday night Shane and I went out to officially celebrate his passing of the EIT! We never really get dressed up to go out...so he made sure the babysitter took our picture to document the occasion! We went to Ruth Chris for dinner. It was wonderful!!!

Isn't my husband such the little hotty!!!

SNOW!!!

Last week it was pretty cold and in rained all week. Every night the kids prayed that it would snow, but we just weren't high enough to get any! So last Saturday we decided to take the kids up to the mountains to play in the snow! The boys have grown out of all the snow stuff we once had...the only one who fit into any snow pants was Rylie! So we made due with what we had. The kids didn't care, they loved it!!! You would have thought that they had never seen snow before! It did make us feel a little guilty when we realized how little snow they have been in...I guess growing up where we did, we really took the snow for granted!

The first thing Rylie did was make a snow angel!

Mason and Parker getting snowballs ready for the big fight!

Mom even got in on the action!

Rylie and Shane working on their snowman.

Rylie had a hard time leaving her snowman behind. She cried and cried as we left!

What Color Crayon Are You...Continued!

For those of you who saw my previous post, I thought Shane should be represented as well! Here's his color! Like I said before, click on the link below and try it for yourself!

You Are a Red Crayon

Your world is colored with bright, vivid, wild colors.
You have a deep, complex personality - and you are always expressing something about yourself.
Bold and dominant, you are a natural leader. You have an energy that is intense... and sometimes overwhelming.
Your reaction to everything tends to be strong. You are the master of love-hate relationships.

Your color wheel opposite is green. Green people are way too mellow to understand what drives your energy.

What Color Crayon Are You?

I saw this on another blog and decided to try it out...pretty intersting! Click on the link at the bottom and try it for yourself!

You Are a Blue Crayon

Your world is colored in calm, understated, deep colors.
You are a loyal person, and the truest friend anyone could hope to find.
On the inside, you tend to be emotional and even a bit moody.
However, you know that people depend on you. So you put on a strong front.

Your color wheel opposite is orange. Orange people may be opinionated, but you feel they lack the depth to truly understand what they're saying.
