The Cast is Off!!!

Yesterday Rylie finally got her cast off!!!

She was a little nervous when Roy got out the saw!
She quickly realized, however, that it tickled instead of hurt!
I think she got more nervous when he started cutting and prying!
Then she saw her arm and she was all smiles!
She was happy to see that her arm is as good as new! She is very glad to be using her thumb and bending her wrist again! Now she is ready for the pool, the beach, and any other water she can stick her arm into!

Ty's Wedding

Right after school got out, we jumped in the car and made the 12 hour drive to Farmington for Ty and Jared's wedding. (Ty is our niece.) They were married in Don and Karla's yard...it was so beautiful!!!
For the first time in as long as I can remember, the whole family was together! So...here we all are!!!
Rylie and Grandma
Here I am at the reception with Kent and Dot...Shane's aunt and uncle. Even though Kent likes to give me a hard time, I really do love spending time with them!!! Rylie with her great uncle Kent...aren't they cute!!! (She really likes him!)
All Rylie wanted to do at the reception was dance with Parker! They had such a good time! Mason even got out there to "bust a move!"
We couldn't go to Farmington with out riding the ATV! Yes, Mason is driving...he's actually pretty good, although we won't let him go alone yet!

Happy Father's Day...a day late!

So...yesterday was Father's Day! I must say, I over achieved! I actually got up and made breakfast for my husband...at like 8:30 no less (very early for me on a Sunday)! For those of you who know me, you can pull yourselves up off the floor!
No really, yesterday we tried to make the day all about Shane! He is, after all, an amazing dad! I'm so lucky to have married someone who puts his family and especially his kids first! Not a day goes by that from the second he walks in the door from work, he takes over with the kids. He plays with them, eats dinner with them, usually bathes them, and reads them books before he puts them to bed. Then, he does what he needs to do. He even gets up with the kids at night! (Doesn't make me look too good, does it...all though I am involved in most of these things!)
The kids were very excited to give Shane his present! They got him a hammock! (Or an "attic" as Rylie calls it!) They couldn't wait for him to put it together! He also got shorts, and the baseball game we went to a few weeks ago!
Finally, a note to my dad...even though you had to call me yesterday, so that I could wish you a Happy Father's Day...I hope you know how much I love you, etc. etc. etc.!!! Sorry we live so far away!!! (Again, I'm not looking too good am I!)

Aimee is Leaving Us

Yesterday we had a little party for our friend Aimee who will be moving to Sacramento soon. Amber did such an awesome job! She is the ultimate hostess...right down to the friendship bracelets she made us all! The food was amazing and Alli took the best pictures of the event! Since we all visit each other's blogs, check out Amber and Alli's...they have captured the occasion perfectly.

I'm not going to say anything else, because honestly, I'm in denial that Aimee is actually leaving, and if I let myself even begin to think about it, I will fall apart! The End!

Rylie's Last Day of School

Tuesday was Rylie's last day of school! She was so excited for school to be out...and she still hasn't stopped rubbing it in to the boys...who aren't out for another week! Although, I'm sure she's going to start asking when she gets to go back any day now! Only one more year until she starts Kindergarten...I can't believe it!!!
Rylie with her teacher Mrs. Murillo. Rylie made a t-shirt with all of her friends hand prints on it for the last day of school! I don't know which she loves more, the shirt, or the red paint on her fingernails!

Bringing Back Things From the Past!

Earlier this week, Mason and I finished reading the fifth Harry Potter book. We finally had time to sit down and watch the movie tonight...which in my opinion was no where near as good as the book! Anyway, the boys wanted popcorn and I didn't have any microwave popcorn...so I got out the popcorn popper!

I proceeded to tell the boys that when I was a little girl, there was no such thing as microwave popcorn and that we had to use a popcorn popper if we wanted to have popcorn! I told them about how my dad used to pop us some every time we watched a movie and I even showed them the scar on my knee I got from touching the popper when I was on the counter when I was a little girl! (I even told them about how my dad put butter on the burn...and how the butter melted!)

Of course, they were absolutely amazed! They couldn't figure out how such a contraption was going to work, let alone give them popcorn! Their faces were priceless as the kernels started to pop and as the popcorn fell into the bowl!

At the end, Mason said, "I love bringing things back from the past!" Yes, I'm ancient, I know!!!

The Perks of Loving the Game!!!

I love College Baseball! I first fell in love with it my freshman year in college when I spent most of my free time at the field watching a certain pitcher play the game...go figure! Anyway, when June comes around, Shane and I get very excited...not because it is summer or the end of school...but because of the College World Series! Every year we kick ourselves for not going over to Fullerton and catching a Regional or Super Regional Game...but NOT THIS YEAR!

Last night we went to watch two of the best college baseball programs in the nation battle it out...Cal State Fullerton and Stanford! I don't know who was more excited...me or Shane!!!

Yes...we took the kids...crazy, I know! They had fun...as long as they had food in their mouths!

We had great seats...between home and third base, just a few rows up from the home dugout!

Now, aside from loving the game, I had a second reason for wanting to go. Anyone who follows Cal State Fullerton Baseball, knows that someone else does too...

Do you know who that is???...Here is a close up!!!

Yes people...it's Kevin Costner!!! I spotted him when he walked past our section! He sat behind home plate, two rows down from the press box...not too far from us! I had a perfect unobstructed view of him for the entire game!!! He sat with the "common people" and everything!!!

I decided with a very cute 4 year old daughter in a cast, that I needed to go for the autograph! The people behind me supplied us with a black sharpie marker and Rylie and I made our way over. In the area where we were sitting, as well as Kevin, there were security guards at each entrance. I should have made this be the one time in my life when I asked for forgiveness rather than permission, but out of respect for the man, I asked the security guard if we could go down for an autograph...yes...everyone else was just waking down...and yes, I waited until it was between innings. Well, I should have asked the young, cute security guard because the crusty old one told us NO. I'm such a rule follower! Anyway...I could have gotten to him the other way from where we were sitting, but I do have my limits!

We had a great time and it was a great game...even if Stanford did end up winning 4-3! The game was on ESPN...and our friends saw us on TV! No, I didn't think to Tivo the game until we got to the field...next time I will remember...and next time Shane and I are leaving the kids home so that we can actually watch the whole game!! (By the way...Kevin is sitting in the left upper corner of this picture just under the press box!)

Crazy Hair!!!

Do you like how I sent the boys to school today???

Yes, I got Parker's stripe a little crooked...this was my first time you know!
Mason wanted a Mohawk!!!
Parker was very worried about what he was going to do all week, since he doesn't really have any hair. So, this morning he decided that he wanted a strip down the center, green on the sides, and then stripes across!
It is CRAZY HAIR DAY!!!

Sneak Peak!

Ok...the funny thing is that I get WAY more comments when I talk about Twilight, than when I talk about myself...go figure!!!

So on that note, for those of you who haven't been on the Stephanie Meyer website lately, she has said that Midnight Sun is her next project and that it will be released!!!!

Also...here is the first completed scene from the movie!!! Be sure to pause my music and enjoy!!!

Tomorrow I will get back to blogging about something other than these books and this movie...I promise!
