April Fools!

I wish I could come up with a really good April Fools for you all...but alas, I'm not that creative! Sorry to bore you all!!! Anyway, I found a link to the Top 100 April Fools Hoaxes of All Time! They are kind of funny! So...here you go!!!

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/aprilfool/

Here is a preview! Enjoy!!!

#8: The Left-Handed Whopper
In 1998 Burger King published a full page advertisement in USA Today announcing the introduction of a new item to their menu: a "Left-Handed Whopper" specially designed for the 32 million left-handed Americans. According to the advertisement, the new whopper included the same ingredients as the original Whopper (lettuce, tomato, hamburger patty, etc.), but all the condiments were rotated 180 degrees for the benefit of their left-handed customers. The following day Burger King issued a follow-up release revealing that although the Left-Handed Whopper was a hoax, thousands of customers had gone into restaurants to request the new sandwich. Simultaneously, according to the press release, "many others requested their own 'right handed' version."

Have a great day! Hopefully you aren't as gullible as I am...I have already been tricked and it isn't even 9 a.m. yet!

Princess for a Day!

Ok...you all know that I hate blogging about myself. Let's face it...my kids are MUCH more exciting! I also hate posting pictures of myself...my kids are MUCH more fun to look at! But...I had to do this post...it was just too fun to pass up...so here it goes!

As I have mentioned in the past, my friend Alli is an AWESOME photographer. Well, she has been shooting brides for her portfolio lately. To make a long story short, she asked me to be one of her brides. Ok, you can pick yourselves up off the floor and stop laughing now! It took a little convincing on her part before I believed that she was serious...but I decided to do it.

My friend Amber borrowed some wedding dresses and so then came the first hurdle...actually fitting into one of them! It has been a LONG time since I tried on a wedding dress! Well...I pulled one of them out of the bag and it was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen!!! To make things even better...it actually fit!!! Ok...now, this is no ordinary dress...it was absolutely the most amazing dress I have ever seen! It blew my wedding dress out of the water by miles!!! That's when I knew this was going to be fun! When Rylie saw it on me, the first thing she said was, "mommy, you look like Giselle"! That was the biggest compliment I could have ever gotten! (For those of you who don't have a princess obsessed little girl living in your house, Giselle is the newest Disney Princess from the movie Enchanted.)

So...I got to be Giselle for the day! My version of Giselle that is, with not as much cleavage, a tiny bit older, and a little bit of a rounder face!

I headed out with Alli...all made up...which by the way...I can't remember the last time I actually had to put that much make up on...I'm surprised I remembered how! My friend Aimee came with us...she was in charge of carrying my train around...she was such a good sport! We also went with our friend Emily, who was a "bride" as well!

Alli took us to, well, to be honest...the scariest place I have ever been! It was totally out in the middle of no where for starters. We had to climb through a hole in a barbed wire fence to get in, and I swear this abandoned house was condemned! Alli had to scout it out before we would even get out of the car! The house was all boarded up, there was graffiti everywhere, and I can't even begin to tell you how many broken beer bottles there were on the ground. I'm sure if we had taken too deep of a breath, we would have caught some disease in the air! I was afraid that someone was going to come out of the wood works at any minute and do who knows what to us...but even with all of that...it was one of the most beautiful places I have seen in a long time...you'll see why!

Ok...so here are some of the pics! Alli has an amazing eye! She is a true artist! She wanted me to be serious in most of the photos...I know...me trying to be serious is actually very comical! I really struggled with that part! I'm still not sure if I look mad, sick, or like I'm in a lot of pain in some of them...but they are beautiful none the less...and all because of Alli! There are lots more she is still going through...but these are the ones she has posted so far. It was, I must admit, a very fun day! I think the stories behind every picture made it even more fun!

This one is my favorite...mainly because I got to smile!

I look deep in thought...I was actually hoping that the building I was leaning against wasn't going to fall over...and I was hoping that Alli wasn't going to fall off of the ledge she was teetering on while taking this picture!

This is why the place we were at was so beautiful! Look at that view...the one I had was beautiful as well! Yeah...that's a wooden "sidewalk" up high in the air, that is all warped and who knows how old it is. We had to make sure we stepped over that part where someone had obviously fallen through! Not scary at all!

I told you...Alli has an amazing eye!

We loved this tree! Isn't the train on this dress to die for!!!

Yes...I'm insane!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much broken glass surrounded me! I only wish you could see how high up this was!!!

So...there is the first batch of pictures from my day as Princess Giselle! It was much more fun than when I was actually a real bride taking my bridal pics! I wasn't nervous...and I could just have fun! If you want to see more of what Alli can do, here is the link to her website...it's also on the side wrapper of my blog!

And thus comes an end to my day as a Princess...and my very short lived modeling career!!! By the way...how do you like my hair?!

This is the way WE do SPRING BREAK!!!

It's Spring Break...finally!!! I think I look forward to it just as much as my kids do! I love having them home! I love the simplicity of having almost no schedule (ok...it is baseball season...a minor inconvenience...especially since our league thinks Opening Day MUST fall on the Saturday in the middle of spring break...and that games MUST start the second week of spring break...preventing anyone from actually going anywhere too far during the 2 week break!)

I really try hard to be "laid back, fun mom" during this break. I don't worry about the house, bedtimes, or anything like that (although I probably should) and I just let the kids do whatever they want...within reason! I figure it's only 2 weeks...and it should be FUN!!!

So...here's what we've been doing for the past 2 days...it has been great!!!

Monday...the kids played the Wii...practically ALL day! They did get dressed at some point!

Mason has been reading his new book...if he hasn't been on the Wii...it is 600 plus pages...he's already half way done!

Yesterday we were supposed to go to Sea World...but Shane couldn't get away...so we're looking at next week. Instead, we met up with some friends at the park! Notice the Happy Meals...I forgot to mention...cooking isn't on my list of priorities either!

It was the perfect spring day...the kids had a great time at the park with their friends! (I had fun with mine too!!! Thanks Aimee, Alli, Amber and Meridith!)
When we got home it was Rylie's nap time. Mason kept commenting on what a nice day it was, so the boys and I laid outside and read for a while...it was so peaceful...it was perfect!

We're having a great time together...my main priority for these next two weeks!!! Off to play the Game Cube!

Ok...my new FAV for sure!

Sorry Archie fans...I think David Cook is my new fav! This is the BEST Michael Jackson song EVER...mainly because it ISN'T being sung by him, and because I LOVE THE ARRANGEMENT!!! Be sure to pause my music before you hit play...you won't want to miss this!!! (By the way...When did I become a ROCKER fan??? First Daughtry, now this guy...I truly am a country girl...promise!)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the Bloomfield House!!!

We hope you are having a wonderful Easter and that the true meaning of this day is in your hearts! Here are some of the highlights from our day! Enjoy!!!

Mason got the books he really wanted...get a load of how thick they are! He's already off reading Eldest!

Rylie's basket had the "princess" theme going...she especially loved Enchanted, the movie!

Parker got a new game for his Wii...Super Smash Bros!

Rylie was the only "civil" one during the egg hunt...it was fun to see how excited she was everytime she found something!

All dressed up in "the Easter outfits"!

Off to church we go! Hope you had a great day!!!

Forever Friends

So...a few weeks ago, Mason asked me who the person was that I have known the longest. It was funny he asked me that, because she came to visit me this week!

Cindy and I have known each other since we were 18 months old!!! We grew up together, survived my moving to Virginia, and were college roomies! Boy the stories we could tell! It has been 6 years since we have seen each other...so you can only imagine how exciting and fun this week was...with 5 little additions...OUR KIDS!!!

We are 6 weeks apart...and the funny thing is that our girls have about that same age difference! McKenna and Rylie hit it off instantly! It was so fun to see them together!

Savannah had an instant crush on Parker...and he didn't mind! He's such a softie!

We had such a great time...we picked up like we'd never been apart...the test of true friendship in my book!

This is Cindy and I when we were 13...our first duet for dance...Fresh Aire! Pictures do exist of when we first met...but the moms must have those!

The summer before or freshman year in college! Boy that was a long time ago! Look how young we are! Obviously, this was before digital pics!

Our 3 year olds...McKenna and Rylie...already Best Buds!

Savannah...probably looking for Parker!

This is how we all felt when it was time to say good-bye! The week went by way too fast!

Cindy and Kristen...33 years after meeting...(oh yeah...we're only 29...I keep forgetting that!)

Thanks for the fun week Cind...and for making the long journey out!!! Let's shoot for less than 6 years before our next "party week"!
