Ok...you all know that I hate blogging about myself. Let's face it...my kids are MUCH more exciting! I also hate posting pictures of myself...my kids are MUCH more fun to look at! But...I had to do this post...it was just too fun to pass up...so here it goes!
As I have mentioned in the past, my friend Alli is an AWESOME photographer. Well, she has been shooting brides for her portfolio lately. To make a long story short, she asked me to be one of her brides. Ok, you can pick yourselves up off the floor and stop laughing now! It took a little convincing on her part before I believed that she was serious...but I decided to do it.
My friend Amber borrowed some wedding dresses and so then came the first hurdle...actually fitting into one of them! It has been a LONG time since I tried on a wedding dress! Well...I pulled one of them out of the bag and it was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen!!! To make things even better...it actually fit!!! Ok...now, this is no ordinary dress...it was absolutely the most amazing dress I have ever seen! It blew my wedding dress out of the water by miles!!! That's when I knew this was going to be fun! When Rylie saw it on me, the first thing she said was, "mommy, you look like Giselle"! That was the biggest compliment I could have ever gotten! (For those of you who don't have a princess obsessed little girl living in your house, Giselle is the newest Disney Princess from the movie Enchanted.)
So...I got to be Giselle for the day! My version of Giselle that is, with not as much cleavage, a tiny bit older, and a little bit of a rounder face!
I headed out with Alli...all made up...which by the way...I can't remember the last time I actually had to put that much make up on...I'm surprised I remembered how! My friend Aimee came with us...she was in charge of carrying my train around...she was such a good sport! We also went with our friend Emily, who was a "bride" as well!
Alli took us to, well, to be honest...the scariest place I have ever been! It was totally out in the middle of no where for starters. We had to climb through a hole in a barbed wire fence to get in, and I swear this abandoned house was condemned! Alli had to scout it out before we would even get out of the car! The house was all boarded up, there was graffiti everywhere, and I can't even begin to tell you how many broken beer bottles there were on the ground. I'm sure if we had taken too deep of a breath, we would have caught some disease in the air! I was afraid that someone was going to come out of the wood works at any minute and do who knows what to us...but even with all of that...it was one of the most beautiful places I have seen in a long time...you'll see why!
Ok...so here are some of the pics! Alli has an amazing eye! She is a true artist! She wanted me to be serious in most of the photos...I know...me trying to be serious is actually very comical! I really struggled with that part! I'm still not sure if I look mad, sick, or like I'm in a lot of pain in some of them...but they are beautiful none the less...and all because of Alli! There are lots more she is still going through...but these are the ones she has posted so far. It was, I must admit, a very fun day! I think the stories behind every picture made it even more fun!

This one is my favorite...mainly because I got to smile!
I look deep in thought...I was actually hoping that the building I was leaning against wasn't going to fall over...and I was hoping that Alli wasn't going to fall off of the ledge she was teetering on while taking this picture!
This is why the place we were at was so beautiful! Look at that view...the one I had was beautiful as well! Yeah...that's a wooden "sidewalk" up high in the air, that is all warped and who knows how old it is. We had to make sure we stepped over that part where someone had obviously fallen through! Not scary at all!
I told you...Alli has an amazing eye!We loved this tree! Isn't the train on this dress to die for!!!
Yes...I'm insane!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much broken glass surrounded me! I only wish you could see how high up this was!!!So...there is the first batch of pictures from my day as Princess Giselle! It was much more fun than when I was actually a real bride taking my bridal pics! I wasn't nervous...and I could just have fun! If you want to see more of what Alli can do, here is the link to her website...it's also on the side wrapper of my blog!
And thus comes an end to my day as a Princess...and my very short lived modeling career!!! By the way...how do you like my hair?!
